The iThink HR Seminar series hosted by Cogito returns to Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol with a focus on a topical and challenging subject for HR leaders.
- Headlines tell us that gender pay inequality continues to be evident in many UK organisations
- Businesses with over 250 FTEs will be required to publicise the pay gap by April
- HR and Business Leaders will need to ensure reward programmes are fair and open, attracting and retaining talent while also protecting the brand.
- Will businesses use Gender Pay reporting as a impetus for diversity change?
In this interactive session, Cogito will share insights from our own research and introduce expert speakers who will share their own experiences in creating effective strategies to deliver greater pay equality.
1000 - 1430 Lunch provided
This event is only for HR leaders, registrations by external consultants will be reviewed and may be cancelled.
Sandy has worked agency-side in the field of employer branding, marketing and communications for over twenty years. Most recently, she held a board level position at ThirtyThree, one of the world’s largest agencies in this sector, and worked with a number of leading national and international brands. She is now working as a consultant helping organisations manage their brands when communicating with existing and potential employees. Her focus is in ensuring alignment of all brand messaging across the whole customer, candidate and employee experience – so businesses are able to attract and engage the talent they need to perform at their best.
Jane Ginnever - Founder of Bath based consultancy Shift
Are you sure you want women at the top of your organisation?
As a former teacher’s pet, Queen’s Guide, military officer and general control freak, Jane’s not your typical corporate rebel.
Having started her career in customer service roles, Jane joined the RAF as a commissioned officer to develop her leadership skills in 1990, and was subsequently in leadership positions within a broad range of organisations for 25 years.
With experience of financial, facilities and HR management Jane decided to specialise in HR management following her completion of a MBA in 2007. Throughout her career she’s been focused on change: identifying changing customer and business needs, developing change strategies, managing change communication and the implementation of change programmes.
From 2009 to 2015 she led HR functions within 3 different businesses (with between 70-700 employees). In 2015 she founded Shift to focus her energy on developing a culture of engagement and innovation within organisations through the introduction of more agile working practices, including flexible working, self-organising teams, devolved decision-making and performance management initiatives. Through her consultancy work she combines her knowledge of HR practice, experience of line management, change leadership and business effectiveness to help organisations change and with a view to changing the world of work.
An authoritative voice on the future of work and a regular speaker on matters relating to people and organisations, Jane is a qualified member of CIPD and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and collaborates widely on positive change projects in the UK.
Gareth Edwards - Partner at Veale Wasbrough Vizards
Gareth will look at how gender pay gap reporting sits within the wider diversity agenda and what can be done at senior team level to influence change and best practice in the wider workforce.
Gareth is an employment law partner with national law firm VWV and is based in Bristol. He has specialised in advising employers on employment law issues for over 20 years. Over the last 12 months he has worked with a number of employers as they have gathered their gender pay gap data and reported their pay gap. The issue has been firmly on the agenda of many boards but how many board members really understand what is being measured (how many have assumed we are talking about equal pay?) and what can HE leaders do to influence change in their organisations?
