Event description

Description

Staged as part of Birkbeck Arts Week 2016 with support from BiGS (Birkbeck Gender and Sexuality), this free one day symposium focuses on how austerity measures have transformed gender and culture, not only in terms of the ‘impact’ of these policies, but in the way that these policies have been resisted and challenged. Research papers, artist talks and other interventions will engage with cultural and artistic responses to austerity measures and challenges to austerity discourses.
