Overview
The GDPR which apply from 25th May 2018 has been described as a sea change in data protection law. It has also been said that it is difficult to imagine any single piece of legislation introduced in recent years with such far reaching consequences. It grants enhanced rights to individuals and in turn subjects operators to more stringent obligations than under the preceding law. The effect of the GDPR is likely to be a quantum leap in in DP awareness and is expected there will be a significant increase in the number of DP professionals. The GDPR extends the powers of regulators to monitor compliance and there are heavy fines for non-compliance under the new regime. It is therefore essential that those advising on DP and privacy issues have a fundamental grasp of what the new regime entails.

Example areas covered during the program
