Do you work with young people? Do you have a placement in a school or with 8-16 year olds? Would you like to train the technological minds of tomorrow while also learning groundbreaking skills? If so, then Generation Code is for you.
UK Youth have received funding from Microsoft to deliver Generation Code, a new programme that will equip youth workers with the relevant knowledge, resources and learning materials to teach young people basic coding.
Code powers our digital world and is now integral to all industries. Every website, smartphone app, computer programme, calculator and even microwave relies on code to operate. Increasingly so, coders are becoming the architects and builers of the digital age. We want to ensure that the youth sector isn't left behind in providing these vital opportunities to young people, allowing them to join in this new generation of coders.
Teesside has been chosen as one of the regions to have Master Tutors trained by the Microsoft UK Youth team to help deliver training to youth workers in the area, who will then deliver basic coding training to the young people of Teesside.
Each youth worker trained by our Master Tutors will be responsible for delivering a total of threee hours of basic training to 40 young people outside of school time before the deadline in January 2017.
Please contact James Woodgate on 01642 728767 to confirm attendance and for any other queries.
ALL TRAINERS MUST HAVE AN UP TO DATE DBS.
