What: GeoDrinks London
This is an informal, social networking event in a Central London bar, organised by the UK Geospatial Membership Body - The Association for Geographic Information (AGI), and for this event, in partnership with The British Cartographic Society (BCS).
This event is intended to encourage networking and knowledge transfer across the full spectrum of geospatial disciplines - including GIS, mapping, CAD, surveying, BIM, Location Intelligence and more.
All Bar One - Waterloo
1 Chicheley St, Waterloo, LONDON, SE1 7PY
Nearest Tube: Waterloo
As we know, mapping and location-based technologies are now not the preserve of Cartographers and GIS Professionals alone. Location-aware smartphone apps, geo-coded 'Tweets', crowed-sourced mapping and easy-to-use web maps are now in mainstream ICT and available to all.
The AGI and BCS want to embrace and encourage this cross-over and the new opportunities this brings to mapping and geospatial professionals. So take a break from your virtual social networks and develop your real professional and social network, both within our own discipline and the wider 'Geo' industries.
Who should attend?
This event is open to both AGI and BCS members, as well as non-members so all those involved with, or just want to learn more about, mapping and geospatial technologies are most welcome.
Whether you are:
...you are welcome to join us for a relaxed evening.
The AGI is The UK Geospatial Membership Body
The AGI exists to represent the interests of the UK's geographic information (GI) industry; a wide-ranging group of public and private sector organisations, suppliers of GI software, hardware, data and services, consultants, academics and interested individuals.
