Description

Welcome to the 4th Annual Lecture for the School of Geography and the Environment on Thursday 2 March. Professor Heather Viles, Head of the School of Geography and the Environment, will take us to some fascinating places close to home in the UK and around the world to discuss the importance of heritage conservation in an era shaped by demographic, technological, climatic, and environmental changes.

She will introduce what heritage is and why we should worry about it, and then use a range of examples to demonstrate how geographers are generating scientific results which are helping to conserve monuments, sites and buildings in the UK, China and elsewhere.

The talk will be followed by a drinks reception for an opportunity to mingle with academics, researchers, staff, students and alumni.

Tickets are free, but please RSVP by 20 February.
