For geologists – amateur, student, professional or casual – almost any cemetery provides opportunity for scientific fieldwork at leisure, right on the doorstep and at no cost. Join geologists Nina Morgan and Philip Powell on a guided geological walk through an Oxford cemetery. You’ll never look at cemeteries in the same way again.

Nina Morgan is a geologist, science writer and Honorary Associate at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History (OUMNH). She has a DPhil in Geology and writes about a wide range of science and technology subjects, including a regular columns about the history of geology for Geoscientist magazine (the membership magazine of the Geological Society of London), and contributes blogs to the OUMNH website.

Philip Powell is a former curator of geology and an Honorary Associate at the OUMNH. He has special interests in fossils, building stones and local geology and is the author of The Geology of Oxfordshire, published by Dovecote Press.
