Event description
This set of four workshops will explore the geology of the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark in a fun, informal and friendly way.

About this event

If you've every taken yourself to one of Torbay's geosites and wondered what exactly the rocks are telling you, this course is for you!

Over the summer, we have run a series of guided walks around the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark. These have proven to be popular, fun and engaging and we through the winter months we are offering some indoor sessions to help you understand the fundamentals of geology. Each month, we will take a different aspect of geology and explore it, with a particular focus on the rocks and sites that you are likely to find around Torbay.

The workshops are run by Rich Blagden, a local geologist and teacher who enthusiastically shares his wide knowledge and experience of the geopark in an engaging way. The group will be kept small to allow a personal learning experience and lots of time to ask questions. No prior geological knowledge is needed and the sessions are explicitly aimed at beginners.
