About this event

  • 3 hours 30 minutes

George Edmund Street is most famous for building London's Royal Courts of Justice. He was one of the greatest Victorian church architects. St James the Less, his first London church, is an architectural gem in Pimlico.

After 160 years, the church interior has lost its original impact. The coloured brick and creamy stone are dull from smog and pollution. The Friends of St James the Less Restoration Committee are keen to return the church to its original splendour and aim to raise the funds needed.

Run in association with The Victorian Society, the Gala Dinner kicks off a 3-day event in memory of G E Street, which will appeal to everyone who appreciates Victorian architecture and local history and will raise these much needed funds.

The evening will include a 3-course dinner and a Silent Auction, with guest of honour & speaker The Rt Hon Dominic Grieve KC.

Tickets cost £95 per person.
