Description

This event brings together two highly regarded and distinctive contemporary poets for an evening of readings and conversation.

Geraldine Monk has been writing poetry since the mid-seventies and is the recipient of numerous awards. Her major collections include Interregnum (Creation Books), Escafeld Hangings (West House Books) and Ghost & Other Sonnets (Salt Publishing), and most recently, They Who Saw the Deep (Parlor Press/Free Verse Editions). She is an affiliated poet at the Centre for Poetry and Poetics, Sheffield University.

Nisha Ramayya’s poetry pamphlets Notes on Sanskrit (2015) and Correspondences (2016) are published by Oystercatcher Press. Her writing has appeared in Ambit, Poetry London, The White Review, and Zarf. She is a member of the ‘Race & Poetry & Poetics in the UK’ research group and teaches Poetic Practice and Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London.

The conversation will be chaired by Kimberly Campanello, Lecturer in Creative Writing at York St John University.
