Get behind the Grassroots 2015 Fundraiser Party
Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM (GMT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Join the Focus E15 mothers, Nina Power, Shareefa Energy, Jeremy Corbyn, Disabled People Against Cuts, Spliff Richard and other vibrant speakers, musicians and poets for a night to support Edge Fund!
2014 was a year of more victories for campaigners and activists than usual. From the Focus E15 Mothers and the New Era Estate residents, who successfully challenged our corrupt housing system by highlighting current threats to social housing. To the many who stood up and fought for a living wage in their workplaces, including the cinema workers of Brixton's Ritzy Cinema. 2014 was a year to be remembered, but this year we can do better!
Edge Fund is unique because it backs small groups working for radical change from below. Come to our fundraising event at the end of the month to hear stories from those who have had victories in their campaigns, and to take confidence and inspiration away for the year ahead.
Our 100-plus members, activists and donors have the last word on who gets funded. The diverse membership grows as each group has the chance to join. Local fighters against fracking and police violence, disability activists, asylum and migrant groups, anti-racism campaigners, the LGBTQI community, Roma and Travellers have all joined Edge.
The average annual income of groups funded by Edge Fund is around £2,500. In comparison, every year over sixty-four billion pounds is given to registered charities in the UK -- if just 1% of the £64 billion went to small independent groups challenging the status quo, we'd stand a much better chance of creating a just and equal world that works for us all.
We will be taking suggested donations/raffle tickets from people on the door of between £5-£20 when you arrive.
Raffle prizes include sessions with radical thinkers and authors, signed artworks, skills workshops, and more still coming in.
Know anyone who could be interested in donating to a group? Via Edge Fund or directly? Then why not invite them along.

When & Where
Edge Fund is a grant-making body with a difference. We support efforts to achieve social, economic and environmental justice and to end imbalances in wealth and power – and give those we aim to help a say in where the money goes.
