Get Creating: Our Freedom, Then and Now

Join artist Athena Jane Churchill for a fun, hands-on family workshop & drop-in session exploring what freedom means to us today after 80 years since the end of WW2. Get creative together as you help build a large collaborative artwork that will be exhibited in the library – and maybe beyond! Expect to get messy with paint, inks, collage and more as you create layered mixed-media panels on wood.

10.00 - 12.30 – Family Drop-In (no need to book)In the morning you can drop in to the cafe/foyer at Exeter Library and add your own panel to a big group artwork using paint washes, collage and photo transfer. Suitable for all ages – just bring an adult and wear old clothes! You’ll be able to collect your artwork after the exhibition later this year.

14.00 - 16.00 – more in-depth bookable sessionBook a space for a more in-depth creative session with Athena Jane in the Rougemont Room at Exeter Library. Work at a larger scale using a wider range of materials like acrylics, emulsion and Polyfilla. For ages 7+, with an accompanying adult. (Limited spaces)
