GET CREATIVE - A SKILLS BASED TRAINING PROJECT ACROSS CORNWALL FUNDED BY THE EU

Get Creative! Writing for Screen

This exciting brand new workshop is being led by Sam Stone, a local writer and will explore some of the ways to develop your ideas and bring them to life for the screen.

During her writing workshop, Sam will focus on the essence of storytelling, development of genre, theme character, and structural theories for the screen. The four-hour session also will give attendees a chance to experiment with these elements through practical modules.

Cornwall Film Festival's Get Creative workshops are FREE (£5 refundable deposit*) giving a fantastic chance to jump in and try something new, there workshops will cover a whole range of media training opportunities provided by a series of industry professionals across a range of genres including, but not limited to: photography, animation, advertising, digital content, television and film production.

This event is taking place in the The Falmouth Hotel, Castle Beach, Falmouth TR11 4NZ

This programme of events is aimed at: Employed females, Participants aged 40 and over, Participants from ethnic minorities, Participants with disabilities & single adult household with dependent children. Although all are welcome.

Please bring a form of ID to these events for registration purposes, this could include any one of the following: Passport, Birth/Adoption certificate, N.I card, Marriage certificate, HMRC Letter.

The project is receiving up to £36,713 of funding from the European Social Fund and Youth Employment Initiative as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England. The Department for Work and Pensions (and in London the intermediate body Greater London Authority) is the Managing Authority for the England European Social Fund programme. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Where should I park?

There is plenty of parking at the hotel as well as road side parking near by. Local buses also stop close by and Falmouth Hotel is within a 5 minute walk from Falmouth Docks station.

How much is it to attend?

This workshop is free however we are having to charge a £5 refundable deposit to ensure those who have signed up attend. When you attend we will refund you the money. If you have attended more than one workshop you will need to pay £20 (non refundable) making the workshop only £5 per hour. If you feel this will be a barrier to you attending please do get in touch.

Please note that the £5.00 charge for this event is a deposit that will be refunded to you as long as you attend the event. If you do not attend the event then your deposit will not be refunded unless you provide us with at least 24 hours notice.
