Get Doncaster Walking 2020
Event Information
Description
Get Doncaster Walking is turning 10years old in 2020!
We would like to make our 10th year the most special yet and focus on offering walks suited to all abilities and ages across the Borough, including a variety of walking sports groups. We will also be celebrating our fantastic partners and volunteers who make this program possible.
Therefore, we would like to invite any of our existing partners, local walking groups, walking sports clubs, and anybody who may be interested in setting up a new walking group to come along, share your ideas, and help us plan our Get Doncaster Walking Program 2020.
Whether it's a 1mile pushchair stroll, a treasure hunt toddle, an historical hike, or a scenic photography stride, we are keen to get as many people walking and enjoying the outdoors as possible, to embrace Doncaster as a walking town with many great places to explore.
Even if you have not been involved before and have never led a walk, we are happy to provide the free training you will need to become a walk leader. We also have the support available for sports clubs wanting to trial adapted walking sessions for those who may want to get back into sport but don't feel they have the fitness to play sports. This has already been successful with walking football and walking netball, but we welcome all sports to give it a go.
Our main focus for this year will be through May for National Walking Month but we will be promoting walks and walking groups/clubs all year round, at any time or day.
We hope to see you there!
