Get Fit for Funding!
Diversity Business Incubator & The Ubele Initiative are teaming up to bring knowledge and expertise on how to write your grant application!
About this event
Owning and running a business is not easy and if you are a black entrepreneur, the challenge of funding can be downright overwhelming. In a perfect world, free from racial biases, a black–owned business might be able to acquire the capital it needs by merely selling its services or products for profit. The reality though is not so straightforward.
Much research have highlighted this disparity in accessing Grants for the BAME entrepreneurs and quoting the latest report from the British Business Bank: There are higher aspirations to start-up in business amongst ethnic minority groups, especially Black African (35%) and Black Caribbean (28%) groups (compared with 10% for White British counterparts), but conversions to start-ups remain very low.
Over the two days, we will explore the funding landscape, look at what funds are available; and work with your organisation to ensure you have the tools you require to write funding applications.
- Attendance at our workshops will be an opportunity to:
- Go through examples of funding applications, FAQs and guidance
- Gain skills to write effective applications
- Look at the documentation you will need to support your funding applications
- Work with your organisation to ensure that you have the appropriate policies and procedures in place to support your submissions
You will get a chance to have a Tailored one to one consultation meeting with the Experts from The Ubele Initiative and many more opportunities to understand the grant writing process.
