About BAFTA YGD Awards

BAFTA Young Game Designers is a free initiative and competition that inspires young people to create, develop and present their new game ideas to the world.

The UK games industry is an exciting and thriving place to work, and there are a whole variety of roles available to work in.

The YGD competition runs from January to April each year, and culminates in an awards ceremony in July.

Game Careers Talk and Q&A Session (30 minutes)

Your Scouts and Guides will meet game developers who are currently making games in the UK. This short talk aims to help young people find their initial game idea and provide tips on how to develop it further. Suitable for young people considering a career in game design or wanting to know more about how games are made.

Game Concept Workshop (1 hour)

Does your group love to code, draw or write the story, the BAFTA YGD team will give an insight into the world of game-making and a chance to meet game developers in the UK Games industry. This workshop will help young learners develop and shape their initial idea and provide tips on how to develop it further
