Get Lost - creative artist walk led by Anna B. Sexton 7th April 2017
Fri 7 April 2017, 13:30 – 16:30 BST
Get Lost - creative artist walks with a twist...
part of Get Creative Weekend 2017
Getting lost can be just the ticket to discovering news things about ourselves and the city in which we live... let your curiosity be your guide and find inspiration in unexpected places.
Meet at Granary Square in Kings Cross for a menander around the locality to take in some unexpected cultural and historical gems.
This artist led walk by Anna B. Sexton, will be accessible, although some stamina to be out & about in London for three hours (come rain/come shine) will be needed.
Family and access friendly.
Bring your sketch book, camera phone, camera, dictaphone...
Be prepared to lose yourself in a well paced walk, connect with other walkers in conversations and discover new connections & synchronicities whilst out wandering.
The wellbeing benefits of walking are well known, combine this with meeting new people, seeing London inn new ways and creative prompts and exercises to open your mind to new creative thinking...
We will stop off along the way to grab a drink, and if you want to bring your own drinks/snacks/food feel free to do so!
Dates: Friday 7th April 2017
Times: 1.30pm - 4.30pm
Special directions: Meet in Granary Square facing back towards Kings Cross Station.
Price: £10 / £5 concs non-refundable ticket
Maximum size of group: 12 + carers
Who is the walk for: Anyone interested in meeting new people, discovering new parts of London & doing it with a creative and wellbeing angle to it.
The walk is accessible in terms of not going fast and using public rights of way, the plan is to take it steady and 'meander' taking time to 'record' what we experience on the walk...
Any questions or access needs please get in touch via our email address.
Anna B. Sexton is an artist who works with sketch books, collage, random drawing plus wellbeing projects and festivals. She is the founder of Open To Create... set up in East London to champion creativity, innovation and sustainablity in people, communities and businesses across Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Southwark and Newham.
Access: I am leading the walk on the pavements and pathways in park and canal areas from the starting point to end point to support wheelchair users and families with buggies.
Although London pavements and pathways are not completely even so please take this into consideration when deciding if this is the right walk for you. The group will be kept deliberately small max 12 people + carers - please contact Anna directly if you have an access questions? email@example.com
What is an artist led walk?
You will be 'led' in the lightest sense by an artist with a passion for walking, being outside and taking inspiration from her local surroundings. It is not a 'local history' based walk more a chance to come to a new area in London and let your curiousity be your guide and find inspiration in unexpected places.
What is the refund policy?
*The ticket is non-refundable, unless in extreme circumstances. We keep the ticket price low to make sure we cover our costs whilst keeping events open. Please contact us if you need to ask any questions
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
If you are planning on coming and gift your ticket to someone else this is ok.
