We're really excited that our Student Residence Advisers are hosting a series of morning walks as part of Beat the January Blues.

Getting outside in the winter for a walk or run can offer numerous wellbeing benefits, despite the chilly weather. Here are some advantages:

Mood boost: exposure to natural light, even during the shorter days of winter, can boost mood and alleviate symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

Improved sleep: regular physical activity and exposure to natural light during the day regulates your circadian rhythms, promoting a more restful sleep at night.

Stress reduction: taking a stroll in a winter landscape can have a calming effect, reducing anxiety and stress levels and promoting a sense of tranquillity.

Social interaction: walking provides an opportunity for social interaction, which is crucial for your wellbeing and creates a shared, positive experience.

These sessions are open to all UCL Accommodation students. Come alone or with friends - everyone is welcome! You can sign up to any walks no matter which hall you reside in. You can also sign up to as many as you'd like (you will need to fill in the form again for each walk you wish to book onto).
