We are pleased to invite you to our Get Ready for Making Tax Digital (MTD) event at our Cromer office. This free, one-to-one session is designed to guide you through the important changes coming to MTD for Income Tax.
MTD for Income Tax Self-Assessment is being introduced by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) from April 2026 as part of their ongoing efforts to digitise the UK tax system. This will be a major change in how income tax is reported and managed, and it will directly affect:
- Self-employed individuals and landlords with annual combined business or property income over £50,000 from 6 April 2026
- Those with income over £30,000 from 6 April 2027
Following a review of your most recent tax return, your combined income exceeds £50,000, which means you will need to comply with the new MTD rules from April 2026.
This change will significantly impact how you keep records and report income, moving away from a single annual return towards digital record-keeping and quarterly updates through HMRC-approved software.
