About this Event

Our Speakers include:

Alice Hoyle

Alice Hoyle has an MSc in Sexual Health Education and works freelance as an advisory teacher of Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). A qualified teacher she now also works as an Youth worker specialising in mental health, sexual health, youth voice and LGBT+. Alice works for DO… RSE for schools (a relationships and sex education resource and collaboration supported by Durex http://www.dosreforschools.com/ ), the Sex and History Project at Exeter University (http://sexandhistory.exeter.ac.uk/), and Westminster University as a practitioner/researcher exploring the role of parents in sex education. Alice is an elected member of the Sex Education Forum Advisory group and was made a life member of the PSHE Association in 2015. Alice’s second book- a book for RSE teachers filled with lesson activities and ideas was published in December 2019. Alice is particularly passionate about creative and innovative approaches to RSE, supporting parents with RSE and RSE in the early years.

Andrew Moffatt

Andrew, the assistant head teacher at Parklands community school in Birmingham, was shortlisted for the World’s best teacher prize last year for his work on a policy called “No Outsiders” which promotes diversity and LGBT+ inclusivity at the 770-pupil school, where over 20 nationalities are represented. The teaching programme educates children on all aspects of the Equality Act 2010, including gender and sexuality, through 35 picture books.
