FREE 6 week course beginning Thursday 23rd April 2015
A short course for anyone who is interested in volunteering but would like to know more about what is involved and what roles are available in the area. The sessions will be a sociable way to explore local volunteering opportunities, ask questions and find out more before deciding whether you wish to become a volunteer.
23rd April: Welcome & Introduction to volunteering and the volunteer role.
30th April: Identifying your skills, experiences and interests.
7th May: Exploring local volunteer roles and how to apply for a role.
14th May: Meet a Volunteer Manager followed by a Q & A session.
21st May: Exploring volunteer induction, training and ongoing support for different types of volunteer roles.
(no sessions on 28th May over the half-term holiday)
4th June: Next steps and certificate presentation.
During the course we will support you to identify roles which suit your interests and skills. If you choose to actually apply for a volunteer role during the course we will provide any help you may need with making your application.

The Volunteer Centre at HARCVS
The Volunteer Centre at HARCVS is a service provided by the charity HARCVS and specialises in supporting volunteering within the Harrogate District. Our trainers are PTTLS qualified and have extensive experience of delivering training for volunteers and for staff from voluntary, community statutory and faith organisations.
