FREE 6 week course beginning Thursday 26th February 2015
A short course for anyone who is interested in volunteering but would like to know more about what is involved and what roles are available in the area. The sessions will be a sociable way to explore local volunteering opportunities, ask questions and find out more before deciding whether you wish to become a volunteer.
26th February: Welcome & Introduction to volunteering and the volunteer role.
5th March: Identifying your skills, experiences and interests.
12th March: Exploring local volunteer roles and how to apply for a role.
19th March: Meet a Volunteer Manager followed by a Q & A session.
26th March: Exploring volunteer induction, training and ongoing support for different types of volunteer roles.
(no sessions on 2nd or 9th April over the Easter holiday)
16th April: Next steps and certificate presentation.
During the course we will support you to identify roles which suit your interests and skills. If you choose to actually apply for a volunteer role during the course we will provide any help you may need with making your application.

The Volunteer Centre at HARCVS
The Volunteer Centre at HARCVS is a service provided by the charity HARCVS and specialises in supporting volunteering within the Harrogate District. Our trainers are PTTLS qualified and have extensive experience of delivering training for volunteers and for staff from voluntary, community statutory and faith organisations.
