This programme will help you explore the range of roles across Health & Social Care, and prepare you to get a job in the sector.

You will also get the opportunity to have interviews for live roles supporting with the vaccination of Covid-19!

About the roles available:

Roles include: Front of House, Health Care Assistant and Admin Support

Front of House

You will provide reception and administrative support at patient arrival to mass vaccination sites. You will be responsible for:

• Patient check-in and pod allocation.
• Initial patient health check to ensure they are COVID-19 symptom free and escalate more challenging scenarios.
• Verifying patient documentation and ensure they meet basic eligibility criteria to get a vaccination.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensure strict data confidentiality.

Health Care Assistant

As a Healthcare Assistant working in immunisations, you will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of vaccinations for the COVID-19 vaccine(s).

In particular, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting the vaccination activity, assisting with the configuration of the vaccination station and waste control.

• Sanitisation and infection control in the vaccination station and the post-vaccination observation area.

Admin Support

As a Vaccination (Administrative) Support working in immunisations, you will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of the COVID-19 vaccinations.

You will be responsible for providing administrative support within a team of staff working in a mass vaccination site.

In particular, you will be responsible for:

• Accessing and maintaining accurate patient records, adhering to confidentiality as per the site’s policy.

• Providing admin support on the vaccination activity by supporting the immuniser with vaccination delivery and vaccination records.

• Ensuring infection and waste control at the vaccination station.

WHO: Young people aged 18-30 who are motivated and ready to work!

WHEN: Friday 15th January (Taster Day, two hours); Monday 18th - Wednesday 20th January (the main course, including interviews. You must participate on all days).

WHERE: Take part remotely from home using your phone or computer!

STEP 1 - GET READY

Once you sign up, we will send you our online workbook to help you learn about the Healthcare Sector and get ready for interviews. The week before, we will share our Jobs Pack with information on all the roles available - you should read this and use it to prepare!

On Friday 15th January, we will invite you to a 'Taster Day', a two-hour introductory meeting, where we will:

• introduce the team
• talk you through the course plan
• give more details on the jobs in our Jobs Pack
• give you an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.

STEP 2 - GET HIRED

On 18th and 20th January, we will run pre-interview online sessions which you must attend. In these sessions, you will learn how to use Zoom for video and telephone interviews, improve your interview technique and practice selling yourself to an employer.

On 20th January, you will have up to three 10-minute video interviews with different Health and Social Care employers recruiting for entry-level positions.

The following day, we will call you to let you know whether any of the employers wish to progress with your application. Even if you have not been selected, you will get feedback from every interview to help you improve!

STEP 3 - YOUR CAREER

We will continue to support you in all your applications. You will also have access to a dedicated Prince's Trust employability contact to coach you on your journey to employment for up to 6 months.
