The details:

This 1 ½ hour live workshop will show you how to get started with visible mending using simple hand sewing stitches and techniques, patching with fabric scraps and traditional techniques such as Sashiko. I will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the process as we mend along together.

Suitable for beginners and sewing enthusiasts alike, we can also discuss the best ways to go about mending particular clothes using different mending techniques.

At the end of the workshop you will also receive a copy of my 'Get started with visible mending' PDF guide worth £5 which includes photos and step by step instructions that you can refer back to in your own time.

What you will need:

- an item of clothing in need of repair (a small hole / area to work on is best to start with)

- ...or a piece of fabric to practice on if you'd prefer!

- hand sewing needles and/or Sashiko needles

- thread of a similar weight to your clothing (embroidery thread, Sashiko thread or darning wools all work well)

- scissors

- a fabric marker or chalk pencil to mark out any stitch lines
