Some days it’s easy to get stuff done and some days (or weeks, months!) it’s not! If it was easy to solve there wouldn’t be so many self-help books out there on time-management and procrastination. So how do we stop ‘reacting’ and taking responsibility for the day?

The experience of procrastination, lack of confidence, distraction, stress, strong emotions and what does it even mean to do a good days work are perennial challenges for PhD researchers. While there are a fantastic range of trainings available to support them, the question always emerges, ‘how do I take this into everyday life and remember it?’.

Pause with Purpose offers a ‘live’ group coaching format in which participants undertake their work with short coaching interventions throughout the day, including some short meditation and relaxation.

9.15-9.30 am Setting intentions from a place of inner resourcefulness
11.00-11.15 am Keeping focused on what is needed right now
12.45-1.15 pm Gaining energy from relaxation
2.45-3.00 pm Realigning with intentions and letting go
4.45-5.00 pm Recognising what you have achieved, setting yourself up for tomorrow.

Throughout the day will be opportunity to speak with Will 1-1 if you are struggling.

About Will

Will Medd, is a professional certified coach and meditation teacher. A former PhD student (1995-2000), Contract Researcher (2000-2006) and Lecturer (2006-2013), Will knows how hard it is to get things done and sustain momentum in research life, and as a coach he knows it is possible! He started coaching in 2009 and has been full-time since 2013, running coaching programmes including workshops, 1-1 coaching, coach supervision, ‘train the trainer’ and team coaching. He has co-written coaching training material for VITAE and two coaching books, Your PhD Coach (2013) and Get Sorted! (2015). Will is deeply committed to developing conditions of challenge and support which are conducive to all participants engaging and learning.
