Get Swishing is working with the ‘Love Your Clothes’ campaign to run free sewing repair workshops in Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow in March 2017. Building on the success of our previous west London sewing workshops in October 2016, our new workshops will focus on learning basic repair skills. The workshops provide attendees with the opportunity to repair or re-fashion items they already own. It will also bring together people with sewing experience and those without to share their skills and knowledge and build community links.
Sewing Workshop Overview
Learn some simple techniques, tips and tricks on how to repair and alter your clothes, extend their life and give you more enjoyment and comfort – no sewing experience needed!
Have a look through your clothes and bring along items in need of repair or perhaps a creative makeover. You should be able to complete up to 3 garments, but feel free to bring along more items for advice so you can complete them at home. The sewing tutor will bring along fabrics to practice on as well as pre-repaired, altered or upcycled garments for inspiration.
