Get The Trend - Dress up your Denim
Sat 4 March 2017, 12:00 – 15:00 GMT
Love London Fashion Week? Want to get the latest looks without breaking the bank? Well now you can! Come along to our free, drop-in workshop and pick up some new skills. Our amazing supercrafter, David Mumford, will show you some simple hacks that will help you transform your denim into something unique to you and bang on trend. With these new skills, some imagination and a dash of creativity you can become your own fashion stylist! No need to bring your own denim, (although you can if you want!) as we'll have loads on hand for you.
This event is taking place as part of Charity Fashion Live 2017, of which Barnardo's is a proud partner and Love Your Clothes is proud to support. During London Fashion Week, stylist Emma Slade Edmondson, creator of CFL, challenges herself and her team to recreate LFW looks in real time - as they come out on the catwalk, in a charity shop, using only what's there at the time. CFL is all about inspiring people to have fun with second hand clothing, or to revisit their own wardrobes.
Fast fashion has created a climate in which people have a throw-away relationship with their clothes, with over 350,000 tonnes of clothing going into landfill in the UK each year. Be a part of change and join the sustainable fashion movement. By choosing to buy pre-loved threads, learning some easy repair and care techniques or upcycling your clothes and letting your creativity run riot, you really can make a big difference.
