Get to Grips with PIP training course
Only about 14% of initial Personal Independence Payment (PIP) applications are successful first time round, and 1 in 4 people with a long-term health condition or disability are believed to give up on their PIP application due to a lack of support or because the application process has made them feel worse.
The Society Matters cic Get to Grips with PIP course is designed and delivered by experts in their field, so you can make your mark on these statistics.
Who should attend this course?
This PIP training course, which is delivered in a virtual classroom environment, is designed to help the people and organisations that are providing social welfare support. In just two half day sessions you will be helped to really understand the key drivers for PIP assessments, and be capable of helping your clients to navigate the application process to give them the highest possible chance of getting their full benefit entitlement first time round.
What will you learn?
Through a combination of case studies, exercises, quizzes and insights from our welfare benefits ‘expert in the room’, you will be guided through the complexities of PIP, so by the end of this training you will be able to understand:
What is ‘PIP’?
Who is eligible for PIP?
How to apply for PIP – understanding the application form
How to navigate the 12 PIP descriptors
How to challenge PIP decisions
