Get Up to Speed with Online Marketing
This new course is based on Jon Reed's book Get Up to Speed with Online Marketing. It is a practical, hands-on course that will get you up to speed with online marketing in one day, complete with an online marketing plan for your business.
Who is it for? This course has been designed for business owners, start-ups, entrepreneurs, plus anyone new to runing an online marketing campaign. It will also be useful for anyone considering starting a business. Participants will come away with online marketing plans and will make a start on creating social media such as blogs, Facebook pages and Twitter accounts. You will also come away feeling up to speed with online marketing, and with the confidence to put your ideas into action straight away.
What do you need? No prior experience of online marketing is required. This is a hands-on course, and you will need to bring a wireless-enabled laptop for the activities.
The case for small businesses to use social media is compelling. Yes, it's cheaper than traditional marketing, and better suited to squeezed marketing budgets. It is also more effective than traditional marketing, since people screen out TV and print advertising and spend more and more time online - especially on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. But social media is also a personal medium where your authentic voice matters. That is much easier to pull off if you're a small business than a huge corporation.
From business blogs and podcasts to online video and the big social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn - there has never been such a vast array of low-to-no-cost marketing tools available to small business owners. Choose and use them wisely, and you will be able to tap into your community of interest online, raise awareness of your product or service, and increase sales.
This course covers the broad range of online marketing tools: which tools to use, when to use them, and how to use them effectively. It also takes you through the process in a logical, step-by-step way. You will come away with an online marketing plan for your business and having made a start on creating your own social media.
By the end of the session participants will:
- have an online marketing plan for their business
- have a broad understanding of social media marketing
- have made a start on creating social media assets during the session
- have the confidence to choose and use a range of online marketing tools appropriately and effectively.
