Overview
Winter awareness preparations for you and your teams
Kingston Public Health and the Resilience teams are running a short ‘Get Winter Ready’ webinar. The aims of the session are to understand:
- which groups are most vulnerable to the impacts of cold weather
- how cold weather events can impact health
- the actions that need to be taken for winter preparedness and in the event of different weather-health alerts
- how to keep warm
- where the relevant resources can be found relevant to your service area
- what winter vaccination offers are available
VCSEs are encouraged to get prepared and be familiar with the updated UKHSA Adverse Weather and Health Plan 2025/26, action cards and resources as we start to see the temperatures dropping.
Organisations are advised to share the links to guidance with colleagues, service users and residents so they can ensure they know what actions need to be taken and when to keep our residents safe this winter.
Please encourage residents and co-workers to register to receive Weather-Health Alerts if you have not already done so: Weather-Health Alert sign up
