Event description

Description

Prepare for upcoming changes to off-payroll rules and what Brexit may bring.

This event is co-hosted with the Music Industries Association (MIA). It is aimed at professionals who work across the entertainment technology and music industries, from business owners to freelancers. You'll learn how IR35 updates may affect you and you'll get the latest advice on how best to prepare for Brexit.

What is IR35?

IR35 is a piece of UK government legislation which aims to determine whether a worker is an employee or contractor, ensuring that the person carrying out the work is paid and protected in the proper manner and that both parties pay the relevant tax. The changes to IR35, which begin on 6 April 2020, mean that all medium and large companies – in both the public and private sectors – will be responsible for deciding the employment status of their workers.

Confirmed speakers

Nicky Gleadow, Managing Director for The HR Point will discuss how the IR35 updates may affect employers and contractors.
