Event description

Description

Last year nearly 200 billion apps were downloaded to mobile phones. App development is big business and there are endless opportunities for people with skills in app design and programming.

This introductory workshop which focuses on iPhone apps is ideal for those looking to get a first taste of app development, web developers looking to up-skill and learn a new coding language or anyone with an amazing app idea hoping to explore next steps.

In this course you will learn:

  • How to make a simple game for your iPhone

  • How to think about design and layout, using Xcode to develop the user interface

  • How to write basic Swift code

Your tutor is Niamh Power, an Android & iOS developer, working at Novoda in their Liverpool office. Having taught workshops in the past for Women Who Code, she loves sharing her knowledge by speaking at events and as the organiser of GDG Liverpool and Swift Society Liverpool. Tweet Niamh @niamh_power.

To ensure plenty of time with your tutor and quality peer-learning, our coding workshops are restricted to groups of maximum 10 students.

Complimentary refreshments are provided.

This course is open to all aged 18+
