Get your policy brief written!
By University of Edinburgh
Overview
This session mixes expert support and protected time to ensure that you can walk out of it with that awaited policy brief done and dusted.
Did you promise your funder you'd write "3-4 policy briefs" that are currently languishing guiltily at the bottom of your absurdly long to-do list?
Do you shake your fist at news of the latest government stupidity in your field of expertise, but find that somehow the brilliantly concise advice that forms in your head on the daily commute never quite organises itself on the page?
Then this is for you!
In this session we will offer:
- practical, actionable overview on how to write an effective policy brief
- a convenient tool which does the work of structuring for you
- peer support
- a resource pack of example briefs
- two hours of protected time so you can walk out with your policy brief text done and dusted
- UoE policy engagement with research manager Dr Shonagh McEwan will be on hand to offer one on one advice while you write
Bring a laptop and anything you need to ensure you can write comfortably.
