What is the Award for?

The Princess Royal Training Awards is an honour for employers in the UK who have created outstanding training and skills development programmes which have resulted in exceptional commercial benefits. The awards are delivered by the City & Guilds Group, global leaders in skills development.

What is required to apply for the Award?

To apply for the Award, you and your company need to demonstrate how the training initiative has been innovative, timely and effective in meeting business needs and in supporting the growth of employees. In preparation for your application, consider:

  • Which of your training, learning and development initiatives is the most outstanding?

  • What is the initiative, and what is it meant to achieve?

  • How does it encourage training best practice to support the organisation?

  • How does it help employees and/or volunteers?

  • How does the initiative promote your organisation’s commitment to learning and skills development?

What does the application process involve?

Benefits of the Award

Applying for a Princess Royal Training Award will provide you with the opportunity to reflect on what you have achieved through your investment in training. The Awards team provide you with one-to-one support through the application process and all applicants receive tailored written feedback on their application. Achieving this prestigious award allows you to be externally recognised for your achievements and sets you apart from your competitors.

Recipients of the award are invited to display the award logo on their websites, business and recruitment communications and products, bringing industry-wide recognition. You will also join the Princess Royal Training Awards Alumni providing access to a network of award holders who, like you, believe in the huge value of training and development.

How to apply for the Award?

The awards are free to enter and are open to organisations of all sizes, and from all sectors in the UK. Entrants will receive tailored support throughout the application process. Applications are open from 02 January – 31 March 2020. A prestigious awards ceremony to celebrate those who receive the award will take place in the autumn.

The awards are delivered by the City & Guilds Foundation, which was set up to amplify the work we do across the City & Guilds Group; removing some of the biggest barriers to jobs, celebrating best practice on the job, and advocating for jobs of the future.

The Awards Ceremony

The Princess Royal Training Awards ceremony takes place in the Autumn at a Royal palace, usually at St James’s Palace.

FAQs

What are my parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of parking on site which should be free, please report to reception should there be any issues and inform them that you were with our event. Please park in the designated spaces only.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

What will be done with the information I supply?

Your information will be stored on Eventbrite according to Eventbrite’s terms and conditions. Upon arrival you will be required to sign in on our attendance sheet, this is to provide evidence of your attendance and will be kept on the server as evidence for our ERDF funding. After your attendance will be stored on the secure Growth Hub CRM system. This is required in order to provide evidence of your attendance and eligibility for the course. This will be kept to the statutory dates any only accessible to Growth Programme and authorised personnel. If you request further contact from an adviser post this event they will use this information to contact you and log any future interactions, again to evidence for ERDF funding.

As this is a joint event, but the training award programme is run and managed by the City & Guilds Group, the information you supply will be shared with City & Guilds and this will be managed by them under their own data and privacy policy which you can see and review here: https://www.princessroyaltrainingawards.com/privacy-policy/

State Aid Declaration

This event is delivered, free of charge, to SMEs (SME is defined as an Enterprise with fewer than 250 employees and has either an annual balance sheet not exceeding 43m Euro or Annual Turnover not exceeding £50m) other restrictions may apply. This support is being provided as de minimis aid under EC Regulation 1407/2013 (De Minimis Aid Regulation). The value of this support has been calculated as £70.83.

Please note: This is not a request for payment; we are merely required to notify you of the value, which will be relevant if you wish to apply or have applied for any other de minimis State Aid in the future. There is a ceiling of €200,000 for all de minimis aid provided to anyone organisation over a three fiscal year period (i.e. your current fiscal year and previous two fiscal years).

This event, as with all the New Anglia Growth Hub events, is suited and intended for businesses already running and established. Please refer to courses by NWES and MENTA for courses more suited for those businesses who are pre-start or have been trading for less than 12 months
