Getting Ahead for Year 6

Based on the Success in Year 6 model, this webinar is designed to support Year 5 teachers by strengthening practice early and ensuring a smooth, aligned approach as pupils move towards the Year 6 SATs period. The session will explore the wider context and challenges facing schools, before introducing a clear strategic framework that supports effective planning and teaching in Year 5.

Participants will focus on understanding key barriers to pupil success and explore evidence-based strategies that can be applied directly in the classroom. Practical approaches and tools will be shared throughout the session, including proven strategies led by Emma Wigmore, drawing on her extensive experience as a teacher, headteacher and system leader. Emma will be joined by Don Wry, CEO of Hearts Academy Trust.

The session will also include case studies, practical examples and clear takeaways, ensuring teachers leave with the confidence, tools and strategies needed to make an immediate impact.
