Getting Connected: For Researchers in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics

21 October, 14:00-17:00, Postdoc Centre

Researchers on fixed-term and open-ended contracts are one of the largest staff groups in Cambridge, and face distinctive challenges both in orientating themselves within the University and in developing their careers. Whether a first-time postdoc or on your first research contract in Cambridge, 'Getting Connected in Cambridge' will provide invaluable information on how to navigate life as a researcher here. As well as an official welcome from the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, there will be a brief interactive presentations from the Careers Service and Personal and Professional Development (PPD) whose principal role is to support the University's research staff.

It provides an opportunity to meet new and returning postdoctoral researchers in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics.

For administrative enquiries please contact Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPdA).

OPdA

The postdoc community in Cambridge numbers over 4,000 and is responsible for much of the research that underpins the University’s world-leading reputation. In recognition of the importance of postdocs, the University established the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPdA) in 2013 to look after the interests of the community. We have a base at 16 Mill Lane (The Postdoc Centre) and at Biomedical Campus where you can come for information and advice.
