Getting Control of Our Own Mind

Sat 13th September, 10am-1pm

a half-day meditation course with Buddhist nun, Gen Kelsang Chogma

Buddha says that the main reason we suffer is because of our uncontrolled minds. We have a word for these uncontrolled thoughts – ‘delusions’; unpeaceful, uncontrolled minds. Anxiety, anger, attachment, addiction, jealousy, self-obsession, depression, and so on dominate and manipulate us all day long. We have to gain control over these delusions or they will continue to control us. Once we have some control over our mind we can direct our mind to peaceful, positive states – and when our mind is peaceful and positive, we’re happy.

In this course we will learn some simple but profound techniques for gaining control over our unruly mind and thereby discover how to make ourselves truly happy and then be of much greater benefit to others. This is how to be really kind to ourselves!

This course is suitable for everyone.
