The doctoral thesis is possibly the largest document most of us will ever independently author. It’s a major undertaking that requires careful planning, organization and extensive writing and re-writing.

In order to give you a strong start this workshop will provide an opportunity to:

• Consider the purpose of the thesis, its structure and format

• Understand the criteria for examination and the examiner’s role

• Identify and refine your thesis message

• Map out your thesis

• Consider techniques for drafting/ revising and finalizing your writing

• How to best engage your supervisor with the thesis-writing process

• Create a realistic plan to complete your thesis.
