About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

**Please note this event is for Univeristy of Salford staff only!**

At the Univeristy of Salford, we have a variety of programmes open to both staff and students which support a sustainable culture across the univeristy.

Within this we engage in an initiative known as Green Impact. Developed by a student through SOS-UK the programme has been running since 2006. Green Impact forms a series of actions that improve and enhance sustainable practices as well as overall wellbeing.

Teams are formed across areas of the univeristy to collectively work through the Green Impact Toolkit and are awarded for their work in meeting criteria, with an internal awards ceremony run in November.

These 'Getting Into Green Impact' sessions are deisgned to help you learn more about Green Impact, how you can get involved and what support is available at the university, as well as some of the benefits to getting involved.

During the sessions there will be time dedicated to forming groups to share ideas. If you have other team members interested in Green Impact, or sustainable action in general, it's definitley worth attending the same session if possible.

There are three sessions to choose from, one online and two in person. You only need to book on to one session as they will each cover the same content.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this event for?

This event is just for University of Salford Staff. It is an opportunity to learn more about the Green Impact programme running at the University and how to get involved. It is also hoped the Green Impact teams can form from the meetings.

What if I am interested in Green Impact but can't make any of the sessions?

No worries! If the sessions happen to run over times you are unavailable, then you can reach out to our sustainability team - sustainability@salford.ac.uk who can arrange a separate chat to talk more about Green Impact and how to get involved.

Why should I be interested in Green Impact?

Green Impact is a way staff can engage and act on sustainable actions within their day to day working. Green Impact teams can form supportive communities with collective goals, actively take part in wider university initiatives and support sustainability as well as wellbeing.

Do I need to book on more than one session?

No, you only need to attend one of the sessions as they will all be covering the same content.

Do I need to have team members with me who are also interested to attend?

No, you can come on your own or with a group of others from your relevant area. If you do have other team members who are interested, it can be beneficial to join the same one to start conversations during the session.
