Description

The Edinburgh University Citizen Science and Crowdsourced Data and Evidence Network are hosting a mini-symposium on the theme of ''Getting involved in the life-sciences - bringing ecology to the citizen” with the aim of showcasing citizen science projects connected to ecology or evolution within Scotland or connected to Edinburgh University.

Speakers include:

Rob Cubey on Citizen Science Projects hosted at the The Royal Edinburgh Botanic Gardens (http://www.rbge.org.uk).

Ally Phillimore describing Christine Tansey’s Track-a-Tree project where volunteers can help measure the progress of Spring (http://trackatree.bio.ed.ac.uk/).

Jonathan Silvertown, who will be taking about iSpot, the community that identifies observations of flora and fauna submitted by the public (http://www.ispotnature.org).

Christine Johnston from the National Biodiversity Network, who will be talking about the Atlas of Living Scotland aimed at tracking Scotland's biodiversity (http://www.als.scot/).
