Description

Getting it right for LGBT people – A good practice guide for Clyde.

Getting it Right for LGBT People is a practical learning session tailored for staff working in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The 2½ hour sessions offer participants an opportunity to find out more about sexual orientation and gender identity and why it’s so important health professionals can respond confidently to LGBT people’s specific needs and build trust in service delivery.

In addition to delivering fun and engaging structured learning, the sessions offer a safe space to ask those hard to ask questions like.... ‘I’m worried about making mistakes – how do I avoid putting my foot in it?’ or ‘I’m lost with terminology – what’s the difference between transgender people and intersex people?’

This is the second year NHSGGC have run the sessions – our 2016/17 events were fully booked and evaluated really well – so we’re delighted LGBT Youth Scotland have agreed to deliver again for us.
