What is demand response and how can businesses benefit from it? Demand response is simply paying businesses not to use energy at certain times. Not only do businesses benefit from reduced energy costs, but a utility company will give payments for reducing non-essential energy consumption for short periods when called on to do so. On top of this, reduced consumption leads to greater business efficiency, lower energy costs (which are highest during the times when consumption would be reduced), and improved reputation through enhanced environmental performance. The seminar will discuss what demand response is, give examples of how it has benefited businesses, and provide practical information on how to explore these financial opportunities further.
- What is demand response?
- How can it benefit businesses?
- What is the government doing to support demand response?
- How have businesses benefitted so far?
- Where can you go to explore these opportunities further?
