Micro Event: ‘Getting Published’
A free event organised by the Fashion Marketing + Consumption (FMC) SIG in association with the Academy of Marketing.

Anticipated attendance by: This event is open to Fashion marketing academics + PhD students studying in this research territory.
This is a free, friendly and inclusive event, please register for a ticket via eventbrite, lunch and refreshments will be provided (please advise of any dietary requirements). We will be exploring the opportunities and challenges associated with publishing work + how this can be meaningfully fed back into teaching, learning + practice. The day will include guest speakers, interactive elements and a chance to share your ideas and explore research opportunites.
Highlights of the day long event include talks by:
Professor Gary Warnaby (Manchester Metropolitan University): how to write a conference or journal paper and the journey from idea to acceptance and publication
Dr Liz Barnes (University of Manchester): bringing ‘industry’ into your research and scholarly outputs
Melissa Fojt (Emerald) & Steve Hayes (University of Manchester, Editor in Chief Journal of Fashion Marketing & Management), discuss: ‘How to get published’
Dr Kate Armstrong (Regent’s University London and Chair of the FMC SIG) 'Carving out time for meaningful research + and managing research outputs'
The workshop is from 1000 (registration) to 1600 followed by an opportunity for networking, refreshments and nibbles, finishing by 1730. We look forward to seeing you at the event.
