Description

If you want to engage with external customers but are worried that you might not be well prepared – or even if your confidence needs a boost – then this workshop is for you. Within an energetic and friendly environment, we will identify potential customers for you and help you to build a compelling message that will engage them. We’ll also help you to plan to make first contact and to deal with the awkward issue of price and payment for your work. Working in teams we will analyse customer case studies to understand their true needs and will design a commercial proposal to put to them.

Since 2004 Andrew Corcoran has worked with academic staff at over 80 universities to develop their commercial and external engagement activities. Andrew is author of ‘Academic Enterprise: A Field Guide’. He is also a practicing academic, teaching Marketing at Aston Business School and Strategy at Warwick Business School, and author of the forthcoming Oxford University Press book ‘Digital Marketing: An Integrated and Practical Approach’.
