About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Many benefits can be gained through supporting others; volunteers build skills, access experiential learning, gain more confidence in themselves, or make progress towards employment.

However, volunteering can also be a step into the unknown, and we know that starting something new is not always easy. If this resonates with you, the Communities Team at Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action are inviting you to join this event.

During the session, we will cover:

  • What volunteering is (and what it is not)
  • Local opportunities and how to find out more
  • The volunteer journey, including tips and hints for informal interviews, references and disclosure checks
  • Myths and misconceptions about volunteering
  • Support available

By joining this session, you will:

  • Gain insights into the volunteering process
  • Learn about expectations from volunteers and organisations
  • Identify quality volunteering opportunities
  • Find out how to look for opportunities, and what support is on hand from the DVVA Communities Team

Looking forward to seeing you on the day, and if there is anything you wish to discuss beforehand, please contact communities@dvva.scot.
