Event description

Description

Voluntary Action Doncaster in partnership with Doncaster Council are hosting a FREE information session to introduce the sector to a number of award programmes, including the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service and the Duke of York’s Community Initiative, which may lead to royal recognition for the work that you do.
In the last 2 years volunteers of two Doncaster Charities have received the QAVS:
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s Potteric Carr Nature Reserve; and
Rossington Hall Riding for Disabled Association

Numerous groups in and around Doncaster have gained accreditation and royal recognition via the DOY Community Initiative and we want this success to continue!
We will be joined by a representative of the HM Lord-Lieutenant’s office and recent recipients of QAVS as well as the Duke of York Community Initiative who will give some background to the awards and walk attendees through the application process; explore the types of evidence that may be needed and answer any questions you may have.

This information session is free to attend for voluntary and community sector groups based in or working in the Doncaster area and includes a buffet lunch.
