Climate Ambassadors: Turning Climate Ambition into Climate Action in Education

The Climate Ambassadors programme offers education setting in England free access to expert volunteer support to develop and deliver impactful climate action plans.

Put your interest and experience in sustainability and climate change to practical use, supporting education settings to reduce carbon emissions, tackle climate risks and inspire and inform the next generation.

This introductory training is aimed at new Climate Ambassadors or those considering signing up and wanting more information before joining. It will be an opportunity to find out more, to understand the role, and to ask any questions.

The two-hour session will be split into two parts which you can see in the agenda. You can choose whether to attend both parts at the same time or on separate days, but both are highly recommended ahead of your first activity as an Ambassador.

The sessions will be held via Zoom.

All are welcome, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Agenda
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Part 1: What is a Climate Ambassador?

In this hour, we will introduce the Climate Ambassador programme, how you can get involved and what your role could look like as a Climate Ambassador. We will explain the sign up process, plus the support, training and networks available to you, and have time to answer questions.

5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Part 2: What is a Climate Action Plan?

If you want to join the scheme, this hour provides more specifics around the four key areas of a climate action plan: decarbonisation, green careers and climate education, adaptation and resilience, and biodiversity. This will be particularly useful for those who don’t have as much experience or technical knowledge, but applicable to all as we cover some key resources and opportunities for education settings.
