Description

Getting started with the GOV.UK Prototype Kit

Level

Introductory

Who it’s for

Anyone working in government who would like to learn how to build working HTML prototypes with the GOV.UK Prototype Kit. No prior coding experience needed. Contractors currently employed with government are welcome.

Designers who have attended Designer Induction: how to be a designer in government and are new to the GOV.UK Prototype Kit or new to code should attend this course.

What you’ll learn

Getting started with the kit, creating and linking pages, moving data through a prototype and publishing a prototype. You’ll get a basic introduction to HTML and CSS.

What you’ll need

A laptop to use on the day. You’ll need to install some software before coming - you’ll get an email with details. You may need to get your IT team to help install it for you.

On the day

Arrive by 10:00 am ready for a 10:30 am start and we'll finish at 5 pm. Lunch will be around 1 pm for approximately 45 mins and there will be a short break in the morning and afternoon.

Please commit to the whole day. We prefer not to have people leave early, start late or drop in and out of the day as it is unfair to the other attendees and facilitators.

Please let us know if you have any accessibility requirements for the event and if there is anything we can do to enable you to fully participate.
