Want to know your daguerreotype from your ambrotype? Join us in the week of Norwich Science Festival for this friendly, fun session and explore our photographic collections. Discover the extraordinary work of pioneering Norfolk photographers and learn more about how techniques and processes developed from the mid-19th century onwards. Plus, get practical tips on how to date historic family photos.

Suitable for unaccompanied children aged 8-14.

Bringing together a large local studies collection of more than half a million printed volumes, maps and photographs with free online resources and access to the most popular Norfolk Record Office archives, NHC provides a dedicated secure research space in the city

We have an exciting and varied events programme of workshops, talks and children's activities as well as offering one to one research advice from Norfolk Record Office Staff.
