Getting Things Changed Conference
Date and time
Description
We are very pleased to formally invite you to our final conference, to disseminate and discuss the findings from ‘Getting Things Changed’, our programme of disability research which addresses gaps between policy and practice.
Date: 25th May 2018: 10.00-3.30.
We plan to hold a whole day event, split into two, so you are welcome to attend the full day, or half, either morning or afternoon.
Place: The SS Great Britain in Bristol, Great Western Dockyard, Gas Ferry Rd, Bristol BS1 6TY
We are inviting a range of influential people who can take our findings forward both at local level in the plans for the university and the City of Bristol, but also at national level. This includes senior executives and policy makers, disabled people’s own groups, and all those who care about inequalities. We would love to see you there.
There will be opportunities to hear about and discuss good practice in reasonable adjustments in hospitals, to engage with people with dementia and those with learning disabilities who are shaping the future of good support (including music and the media!), to share successful practices in supporting parents with learning difficulties, and to develop ideas around disability as an asset, both in the health service and in the university itself.
The aims of this event are to share the findings from out project, engage you in the debates we have raised in Getting Things Changed and to share the next steps and how you can help with this.
Please email GTC-SPS@bristol.ac.uk if you have any questions or ideas for May 25th, but most importantly put this date in your diaries and RSVP via this Event Brite page.
We look forward to seeing you on 25th May 2018.
